Because (endurance) athletes often take too much or too little carbohydrates, and often in the wrong concentration, the absorption of carbohydrates and fluid is not always optimal. As a result, performance loss can occur, and gastrointestinal symptoms can develop. By choosing a qualitative isotonic sports drink, these symptoms can be prevented to some extent. Also, dehydration and loss of salt (loss of sodium) are significant causes of muscle cramps during prolonged endurance exercise.

Thanks to the neutral pH (~7.0), this drink is extremely suitable for endurance athletes because it is not “aggressive” on the stomach. In fact, no acids are added to the drink. Moreover, a pH lower than 5.5 dissolves tooth enamel. Given that sports drinks are usually consumed sip by sip, their residues often remain in the oral cavity for a considerable time, making dental erosion a common problem for endurance athletes. Mix 35g (= 2 scoops / 1 sachet) of powder into 500ml of water. Drink 500-1000ml per hour during exercise, depending on the need for fluids and carbohydrates.
